I hate Sprint... Anyone know what to do?

Ok, here is my situation:

I recently had a lengthy hospital stay, when I was there, my fiancee took herself off my ATT Family Plan, so we sold our 2 Iphone 4's, and switched to Sprint, and both got Evo 4G's.

Now, we purchased and set up our plans at Sam's Club, which had a mobile store, basically a Radio Shack was in there.

20 days later, I decide that I want to use the 30 return policy to exchange my phone for one of their free phones, and get my $170 back. I was going to use the free phone until the Evo 3D would be released, then give the free phone to fiancees sister, and start my own plan with the 3D. Thats where the problem starts.

In the 20 day time frame, Sams Club kicked out the radio shack at ALL their stores, and started their own cell phone stand.

I first call Sams, they say they can't do anything since it was under Radio Shack, and to take it there. We go to the closest RS, they say no, nothing can be done and take it back to Sams. We go there, and about 30 minutes of talking, they say there is nothing they can do, and to take it back to Radio Shack.

So we go to another RS, the guy is calling his help desk, mean while my fiancee is in a heated discussion with Sprint.

I mean, this shouldnt be that hard of a problem, take the phone back, give me the $ from the Evo, switch me to the no cost phone. ARGH.

No, the other radio shack says there isnt a manager, and there is nothing they can do, that since it has Sams Club at the top of the reciept, they cant do the exchange.

Its so stupid really. The Sprint rep on the phone says the best they can offer is to ship the phone back to Sprint (and be without a phone, and the 2nd line) and they will credit the line. That's not what I wanted. I wanted the cash back so I could start up my own line and get the Evo 3D.

I can say I have never met more rude workers than at the 1st Radio Shack and the Sprint rep.

The rep on the phone says we can't even turn off the 2nd line BECAUSE THERE IS NO WHERE TO RETURN THE PHONE TO! Every other cell phone place I've ever been to, you can exchange the phone for the model you want, and at the very least, you get a debit card with the amount owed.

So, after all this, I'm planning at either selling both the evos on craigslist (how do you go about doing this, can you just clear everything off, and sell the phone to someone, and they take it to Sprint to put their number on it?) and saying eff Sprint, and not pay them another dime or something.

I mean, has anyone else had this horrible problem with Sprint/Radio Shack reps?

Is there any option I didn't think of that you guys have? Don't you find it rediculous that a phone that was sold is unexchangable because it doesnt say Radio Shack at the top, but Sams (EVEN THO THE RS WAS LEASED TO SAMS!).

Sorry, needed to vent. Im stuck with a phone i dont want now. Any opinions?:'(

First of all, it's not really Sprint's fault here. They don't do cash back for active accounts. You can canel your account and not be charged the ETF, but the phone thing will have to be handled with the store you purchased at.

Now whatever store it says on your receipt, that's who needs to honor your return policy. If it's RS, I would demand them to take it back or vice versa with Samsclub.

If Radio Shack refuses to allow you to speak to a manager, then call customer service for RS and let them know of the problem because if they are on the receipt, they HAVE to honor their policy regardless.

But like I said, Sprint's not really at fault here since you didn't buy the phone from them. Most they could do is cancel your service and not charge you the ETF.

They offered to take the phone from you and credit your account even though you didn't buy from them, that's pretty good imo.

Yea I guess Im more mad at Radio Shack.

Like I said, Sams leased the store to Radio Shack, but the reciepts still come up Sams Club... yet the other Radio Shacks won't take the return.

We have to go back tomorrow, when another upper manager is working. I'm sure it won't end well again.

I would take it to the Sam's Club and demand to see a manager since they're the one who partnered with Radio Shack and all. If it's a Sam's Club receipt with all of SC's details, then that's who should honor it.

Buying from third party retailers can definitely be tricky...I know my one awful cell phone experience started at a Car Toys and I learned my lesson very well to never not buy directly from the corporate store again.

I hope you can get it sorted out, and be sure to update us on how everything ends up going :)

Not really sure what else you want Sprint to do for you here since it's not their fault. Either Sam's Club or Radio Shack should be taking it back but it's easier for both of them to blame the other. Your receipt should list some sort of return policy, and whatever retailer is listed there should be taking care of the return.

Third party retailers are fine as long as you use a preferred 3rd party retailer

Use roam control and roam for 70% of your calls they will beg u to cancel

Doing this means you blam Sprint for his miss fortune lol I say go to sam's and get like 3 carts full of stuff from thru out the store then have them ring it up. After that tell them forget it because you don't want to take the chance on them changing ownership and not being able to return the items back. lol

This is an unfortunate and rare situation that in noway is Sprint fault and I think they offered you the best possible and reasonable solution to fix it for you. question , wouldn't you be able to just sell your phone to your fiancees sister and when the 3d comes out open your own account with that?
