Welcome to Android Central! This is a pretty common issue. The screen has been damaged by the fall, and would need to be replaced if you want to keep using that phone. Get an estimate from a repair shop for how much a screen replacement would cost, and if it's not much more than the deductible on your insurance, you may just want to go with the repair shop. Otherwise, contact your insurance for a replacement phone. Replacements are typically refurbished, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Be aware that they may also send you what they consider is a "comparable" phone, if they don't have an S3 available to send to you.
