I have a galaxy s6 active and the screen LED display has shut off what is wrong?

I have the galaxy s6 active, as stated, and I was listening to music when I turned it on and started checking social media as one does and I noticed the screen had started to glitch here and there then it would completely turn black or gray pixely. I had put it in water but it wasnt completely submersed, just had a somewhat small amount splashing onto it. Any suggestions?

The buttons and screen touch response still work too.
