I have a problem, please help

First of all I would like to say that I have read enough around the forums and I apologize in advance if this has already been covered. It started two nights ago when after i played a couple of youtube videos the recorded some video. I plugged into a ps3 to see if I could watch the videos and no dice. Now the problem is I now have no 3g and my network signal shows a small triangle. I was fully rooted and running a Aosp gingerbread rom. I dont think it was the rom because everything worked flawlessly until this point. I flashed back to a sence rom updated data and prl, and got 3g back but only sometimes it seems to turn itself off and only come on when it feel like it. I read some being successful with unrooting and that fixing the problem and at the very least be able to take it in to a service center so I did. I asked the service techs to do a complete wipe of everything so I could start like the day I took its out of the box, and hour and a half later i went in to pick it up. I signed into to my google account no problem waited for it to sink and then went to the market and downloaded speed test just to see, I ran a couple of tests and all was fine then all of the sudden lost the 3g and the network again. The guy then did a ##data# and reset my profile and pretty much told me that it would take a few hours for all the data to sink or settle in and to call him if there was still a problem, conveniently they are closing in a few hours. Now here I sit with a bone stock evo with shotty to no network, data connection, Suck! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re-root and flash a fresh modem? Maybe it got corrupted? Hard to say what a "fresh" phone is from a service center, so maybe they didn't quite wipe everything. I know in some instances a Fascinate can hold to an old modem version after a ROM wipe/flash. Just a suggestion.

Also, can you do the Sprint equivalent of a *288, which refreshes the cell tower list? Maybe it lost the tower you are close to.

Get it swapped out at the sprint shop seems to be your easiest bet.

I plugged mine into my ps3 with no problem. Did you unplug it without ejecting it or something? You explained it with some detail but I feel like you've left some important bits out... Plugging your phone into your PS3 shouldn't have corrupted anything. Was there anything else you did with the phone during that period of time? Where did it show a small triangle? Where the 3G signal should be or on the whole phone?

Take it in and swap it out at the store, don't re-root and reflash a device that is not working properly to begin with! any issues you have with data connection stock are just going to carry over into the flashed rom and then your just gonna have to re-go through all the unrooting process and flashing stock back just to take it in again.... sucks to say, but be patient and work with sprint on that!
