I have a problem with my LG phone and music playing apps.

I loaded music onto a micro SD disk. The music app that came with the phone (Google Play) worked for one day. Then my plug-in head phone was not recognized. The next day Google Play won't even recognize the loaded music. So I downloaded another music app (Shuttle). Again it worked for one day. The second day my headphone again was not recognized. So far the music is still there. So what is wrong with my phone?
