I have a Samsung galaxy tab 3 8.0 SM-T310 can I/should I upgrade to lollipop? How?

I've got a Samsung galaxy tab 3 8.0 SM-T310 which is currently running 4.4.2.

Can I update it to lollipop? Is this something I should do? Is the hardware capable of running the newer android version or should I just stay with what I have. I don't want to make the tablet laggy by upgrading so I'm leery until I know more.

If it is advisable to upgrade what is the best method?
