I have accidentally disabled my messages on my Android phone

I somehow disabled my messages and it doesn't work anymore when I look for it in my favorites menu it is not there anymore the only way I can ask it it is through my contacts which never really works

Look in your app drawer. When you find it, long press it and move it and you'll see a representation of your home screen. Move it to your home screen and the phone will create a shortcut for it on the home screen.
