I have an email problem

Ok, I have an email problem with my X, this is not new, its been like this since I first got the X on launch day.

ok...when I setup my X, I used my same gmail account as my original droid had, I did not set up any other email accounts, just the gmail one. but when I tried to send email it said no email account was found, so I had to go to settings and make a normal email account using my gmail, now I can send and receive gmail but I get duplicate notices, one from gmail and one from "email"

is anyone else doing also or did I mess something up which I dont think I did.

Have you tried a factory reset? I have to wonder if something just got borked during setup.

While doing the factory reset, see also that stickied post on how to avoid the problems some were having with 2.2. Might not help, but it can't hurt.

Another thing is that if you have widgets on your home screens for both the email and the, say, mailbox and/or Gmail -- you will get duplicates. They work independent of each other. You will also hear two sounds as each downloads and "records" an incoming email.

Pick one or the other and stay with it. Simplifies life. PS - You might try a battery pull before you go the factory reset route - lots of rebuilding there.

actually I have done 3 factory resets. its kinda a brainless setup, done it on my X and on mine and the wifes droid. the droids email are fine
