I have inserted sd card but my phone keeps telling me i need more storage. Not sure what to do now.

I was able to transfer my contacts and some of my photos but not all of them. I downloaded an app to help me transfer other files but it tells me that they were transferred to SD but they aren't there. I want to transfer everything that is allowed but I'm not sure how to do it. I don't know if I have junk files, how to find them or how to transfer and clear up storage so my phone stop telling me I need more storage. I'd appreciate any information that will help me with this before I say the heck with it and go back to a flip phone. Thank you!

Download Data Size Explorer from the playstore. Run it and see where you can find space. Don't move apps, just videos, pictures, files and schedule backups to the cloud and card. Clear your cache partition and reboot afterwards.
