Lets start my story back in Sept 2010......I bought my Original Droid X and I LOVED that phone.... by far the BEST phone I have ever had.

Now lets jump to May 2011...... I simply couldnt resist the temptation and sold my trusty Droid X on ebay and then bought a HTC Thunderbolt..... worst mistake I have ever made as far as phones go.

Now, current day, yesterday finally sold my HTC Thunderbolt..... now a big choice, Droid X, Droid X2 or Droid 3.

Just went into the Verizon store near us and played with the Droid X 2 and Droid 3. I will admit that the new keyboard on the D3 is NICE........but........ I totally fell head over heels for the Droid X 2!!! Its like a old girlfriend has come back but this time she looks even better!!

I am going to make the commitment and pick me up one of these Droid X 2 A.S.A,P

I was concerned about all the negativity I have read about the qHD pentile displays but I honeslty couldnt notice it much on the DX2 I was playing with.....but then again I didnt hold it up to my nose or put it under a magnifying glass.

How are you all liking your DX2's?

I hear Gingerbread is just around the corner, wonder if I should wait and see how that new update goes before buying my DX2.

First time poster here.

My X2 is a weird beast. Stock, it's not much to brag about. It's sluggish and there are a ton of issues including random reboots, music skipping and poor video recording just to name a few. Rooting and using V6 Supercharger and freezing the bloat makes this phone sing.

I did unroot, however, because I signed up for the soak test that's coming up, which everyone is thinking will be Gingerbread (and I'm pretty sure you have to be stock to get it). So, we'll see how well it performs with the update. Judging by what I've been reading about the D3, Gingerbread is key to making this phone work the way it's supposed to.

As far as the display, there are things I like and things I don't. I really like how it performs in sunlight -- very easy to read. I don't like how gradients look blocky. I understand Moto had to cut some corners to save on costs, but I really wished they went with a display that was more in line with a next-gen device. For some it's a deal breaker, but i'ts not too much of an issue for me.

Maybe you should have caught me earlier. I just sold my DX2 on another site before I ended up buying the Bolt from you. It was a good phone, but as did the Thunderbolt and other phones, it had(still has issues) that need to be ironed out. I too owned the original DX and agree that I think it ranks as one of the best phones ever produced. I honeslty believe you should hold out for the Bionic. Not the DX2 is a bad phone by any means, but I believe for $100 more, you'll be getting more bang for your buck. Just my opinion.

Just stating what was told to me; not conjecture, opinion or hearsay.
I can't change it, fix it or "make it nice" for everyone.
All we can do is hope you are right and that in fact it is "right around the corner".

Yeah, but at least official soak test registration emails are going out from Motorola. Hopefully not much longer.

Right now I dont have 4G here and wont for I guess another year, thats why I will stick with a 3G device for now... The 4G devices (well the Bolt anyways) are AWESOME as far as data speeds in 4G areas!!

The Bolt was a nice bulky, sturdy device but I didnt like the Sense UI as much as the MotoBlur.

That was probably my biggest reason for selling and switching back.
