It didn't come as a surprise and I've been religiously backing up the V10 with SMS Backup & Restore, LG Backup and the Google backup. Also, I kept nothing of importance in main memory, only on the micro SD.

At the moment of bootloop just installed FX File manager app. Booted to the green screen for logs, then only would boot to Life's Good.

Manufacture date: 2/2016
Model of V10 - T-Mobile (not that it matters)

So why a new thread? Could be coincidence, but up until last week I never played video intensive games. But over Thanksgiving weekend I did. Now bootloop! LG was very nice about it and it's going back to them today for in warranty service I assume.

I had to pick up a new phone so got a V30. I really need a DAC. Once you use a DAC you can't go back :)

I'll update when I get the V10 back. My gf still happy with her G4, so this will be a spare.
I'll update for feedback on the warranty process.

Sent mine it prior to bootloop for overheating and they still fixed it for free so I think you'll be good. I updated to a Note 8 while it was in the V10 was in the shop and you are so right about the DAC. Nothing compares. This Note 8 is a great phone but the kick just isn't there while listening to headphones. Lack of DAC and fingerprint scanner location are my only complaints about the Note 8 so far though.

You can always get a headphone amp - or at least try that to see if makes a difference. Other than DAC you can't go wrong with a Note 8.

Headphone amp??

FiiO A1 for example. Not just for difficult to drive earphones. It provides amplification so the sweet spot is extended. A lower power amp in a phone may have clean sound but when increased there's distortion. The amp bumps it up to improve the sound. I would only try this if you can return it and don't take my word for it.

I heard back promptly from LG - diagnosed "Unit is not charging with cable" LG speak for ... boot loop.
The repair is conditional for what they find when they open it. People that baked their v10's in ovens to recover data may have a problem, for example. Meanwhile my dainty V30 is pretty awesome.

That's how they diagnosed mine too. Fixed and returned for free. Works perfectly now.

Just hit my wife's V10 today...exactly 23 months to the day from when we purchased it.

Funny thing is the Verizon tech support person said she had TEN calls today alone. She said she usually gets 1-3 a day for the V10.

In the mean time, switched to a Nexus that my dad used to use on Google Fi, Works fine on Verizon and has Android 8.0. Go figure. Verizon is sending her a refurb Galaxy S7, so not so bad but will probably end up going with a Pixel 2XL or Note8. I'm done with LG. Two G4's and a V10 dead due to bootloops.

Sorry to see you go but I can't say I blame you. My gf still using my old G4, hasn't bootlooped yet. Good reminder to make sure her SMS Backup and Restore still working every night.

I have to give LG some credit for the fast turnaround time in fixing my V10.

One thing of note-

-The headphone jack on my V10 sent in for repair was bad, and the returned phone still bad. By bad doesn't work with most plugs and I have lots of different earphones. I figured the new motherboard would have included a jack. I have a $6 replacement plug - still have to install it.

Keeping the V10 as a backup/spare and alternative audio source.

Well, Verizon sent out a refurbishes Galaxy S7, and though it is a nice phone, it is nowhere near on par with what the V10 had in battery, camera, multimedia, and screen size. I called Verizon back and pushed the issue and was told that the V20 and G6 were not suitable replacements for the V10 and they offered us another V10.

Since all my wife's backups were done with LG Backup, I agreed to try the V10 replacement in an effort to regain her backups for her as well as her sanity... We still feel that we should not be forced into buying a new phone. Also, I had withdrawn from the LG class action/arbitration because I felt it wouldn't be worth the time and effort.

Good luck with the replacement V10. The replacements now should be bootloop free ( I hope!).

Thanks Tardus.
One of the things that really impressed me about her V10 was that the camera really seemed to take better pictures than the ones on my V20. We have several shots of the same things and hers just seem to look better. Hoping that the replacement will perform just as well.

My G4 finally bootlooped, yesterday. Got a repair ticket, today. It's a 505 S/N I bought at launch. Should be interesting to see if LG will fix it for free since it's 2 years and 8 months old. It was my daily driver for the first year, then a backup when I got my V10, and has been my 9 year old grandsons phone for about ten months. I've definitely gotten my goodie out of it!

Update. I contacted LG, sent my G4 in for repair, and received it back, all covered by the warranty.
