I'm not a new Android guy. I had Android from the first Droid - which made me go to iPhone . But I went from iPhone to BB and stayed there for a while, then got the Razr. Then the S3, then a Razr Maxx HD and a DNA. The S3 is just the sweet spot for me. It's faster than the Maxx HD, seems more stable than the DNA, has an SD slot, a beautiful display, thinner, lighter, and everything just works. I keep coming back to it and giving my kids the others, except for the somewhat flaky DNA which went back to Amazon. I don't know what Samsung is going to do with the S4 that can make it better than the S3, but I'm looking forward to that. This is just a d*** good phone. One thing I'd like is more battery, but otherwise I don't know. Faster micro I guess.

Me either. I am a die-hard Blackberry fanboy, but I've read some conflicting reports about the new Z10 - and the app scene is going to be sparse for a while. I wonder if anyone will ever measure up to the sheer quality of the old Palm apps? That was some good stuff! And the one thing I really REALLY want - push email - is GONE with the demise of BIS! I guess it's sort of around for legacy devices, but from what I'm reading the Z10 isn't going to access it. That's a hard blow to a guy who loved push email. I'm conflicted

Same here. I'm really impressed with this phone. Had the BB Storm, then the Storm 2, tthen the Samsung Droid Charge. This phone is like a trip to the moon. Lightening fast, so many things that it can do. Sammy really stepped up to the plate. The new TouchWiz is great. I always had to use a 3rd party launcher on the Charge because it was so bad. With the S3 I've loaded up several launchers but always seem to go back the stock TouchWiz. Same with the stock music player. Sucked on the Charge but just fine on the S3. I expect this phone will last me til they bring out the S5.

Just the other day I was sitting at a bar waiting for take out when I completed a series of 6 or 7 tasks flawlessly and had a moment of clarity and thought this device really is amazing.

Yes, and no. I'd give anything for a calendar as good as Palm. Lots come close, but none are as perfect. If only they'd just added a phone to the TX or Tungsten E.

No one has made a book reader app as good as some Palm apps. I love the ones that auto scroll. You can read hands-off, like if you're at lunch and your hands are messy. I enjoyed that, but app makers are so concerned with giving you a book experience they ignore the advantages a device can give you over a book. A tab will never be a book - why force it to try? Instead play to the strengths of the gadget, like the Palm apps did.

My latest experience with this GS3 was driving from Allentown, Pa back here to Michigan.
Had My Tracks going, Words With Friends, Waze, and 1 or 2 other things going. This phone multitasks like a dream.

I still have a "work" BlackBerry, but as much as I used to love the platform, it just wasn't keeping with what I wanted out of a "personal" device. (I have no choice but to carry a company-issued BB for my job -- but they don't allow apps anyway).

I didn't know that BIS was being phased out! That's crazy -- email was possibly the ONLY thing I really missed about BB...and now that's gone too. Fortunately, right now I only have to access GMail and Google Apps accounts on my S3, but I've never liked using other email clients for Exchange or POP/IMAP accounts on it.

Z10 is intriguing to me, but at this point I'm in way too deep with Android, and don't plan on changing anytime soon. BB dominated the smart phone market for years when it was primarily business customers using them, but the way I see it, the Z10 is what BB needed to be putting out 2 years ago if they wanted to compete in today's consumer market.

So smooth, and I never encounter a problem with it. I haven't even rooted yet.

Started with a Kyocera 6035 > Samsung i500 > Treo 600 > Treo 700p > Pre Plus > DInc2 > Galaxy S3

It was hard for me to let go of my Palm.

When they started making the new phones they switched from Palm OS to WebOS. They also stopped making pdas and many people wanted the new phone but without the data plan just to stay with Palm. That wasn't an option and would have been a completely different experience anyway so a lot of people switched to iOS at that point simply because it was touchscreen. That's the only reason I got my iPod Touch, but didn't like the interface enough to get an IPhone when the time came to finally get a smartphone.
