Welcome to Android Central! Are you plugged into a wall outlet or a USB port on the computer? USB ports charge much more slowly.

Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

Re: i just updated my HTC ONE M7 and now the battery is charging really slow

Since I updated I have noticed my device seems much more picky about when it charges faster or slower. Ordanarily I would jump right to the cable or something physical but I believe it has to do with mA's being delivered to the device. There seems to be a sweet spot with the latest update. You could try charging with the device off and see if your time is any less. You can easily compare charging sources for speed by looking at the battery screen while plugged in. It will display time to complete charge based on your charging source and from there you can see what source gives you the shortest charge time. Of course new cables never hurt if you suspect that there could be something physical causing your slower charge times.

I had the same slow charging issue. Not so much the rapid drain problem, but I thought slow charging might have something to with the recent update... or it could have been the recent email app update. As it turns out I switched cables a couple of days ago, and they are not all equal. Over the last fifteen hours my phone's charge (HTC One) went from 53% to 96% charge, mostly with the phone off. Usually the phone charges more rapidly. A few minutes ago I dug up the original cable, which was damaged in a drop, and worked the contacts into place. The last 4% charge was finished off in a couple of minutes. Thank you for suggesting using another cable!
