I'm running a stock phone with GB update and sense.

I would like to know if there is a way for me to have an icon on my home screen that launches desk dock mode. Currently i hit the search button type dock and then click the app and its there. This sucks when im half asleep and just wanting to go to bed. I some how managed to make a shortcut for the car dock mode through astro file manager but i don't like how I have to still launch the program after i hit the shortcut.

I don't want to root my phone or install anything that will change how it looks. In other words i like htc sense browsing.

I'm still a newbie so some of my terminology may be off. Other wise i hope one of you can help.

You should be able to press on dock mode on app launcher and place it on the desktop or where you want it...

This is only a suggestion.....I am running a ROM and docking doesn't work......but when I ran stock....when i mounted my phone into the dock....the dock icon appeared........so, maybe go into Verizon.....borrow the dock ...mount your phone.....go to apps and drag it to the homescreen......or....just use go launcher

In that case you could look into a number of dock replacements and place the icon for that dpck on the desktop... There's plenty to pick from..

You can use Better Cut to place a Dock Mode icon. I've tried this out and it works. Better Cut shows two different Dock Mode activities to choose from... I selected the first.

Haven't used that in a while but you are correct that Better Cut should work...

Second vote for Go Launcher. The level of customization you can do is just amazing (including hiding the Verizon crap in the app drawer AND showing the apps that Verizon apparently doesn't want you to see).

I love the 5x5 layout for app icons on the desktops. It allowed me to cut my desktops down from the usual 7 to three, and I set them up for "circular" rotation, so I'm always one swipe away from the desktop I want. And the fact that it all works just as well in landscape mode (with the obvious disclaimer that not all icons are really designed to work well in landscape) is a nice bonus. You can also replace icons for apps if you want, so if you have an app that has a really poorly designed icon you can just change it to something else that looks better.

Oh, yeah, and the "dock mode" icon is visible in the app drawer and can be added to the desktop of your choice. That comes as part of the package too.

i use an app called "multicon" which ally you to put 4 app icons in the space of one, I'm sure there are others like it. My point is, that with multicon, the dock shows up when editing the widgit so you can place it.

i have the t mobile htc amaze cell phone i love it ,, but how do you get it in dock mode??

Try hitting your search button, then type the word: dock. There should be an option pop up that says something like "Dock Mode". Click on it to launch it. At least that's how it works on the Thunderbolt. :)

I am on stock and have it on my homescreen. I do not have it in my app drawer. Pretty sure it used to be in the app drawer before one of the updates. I put it on my homescreen from the app drawer a long time ago and it still works from that screen.
