Yesterday morning i decided to try and figure out why i couldnt find my contacts even though they appear when i get a call, so step 1 was the *228 option 2 then things went bad from there

now its stuck in a constant loop something like htc sense cant load so must restart then it goes to the white screen with a small green htc logo for a second or 2 then homescreen pops on then error message and so on.

phone is 2 months old and has not been rooted , did i kill it?

done the battery pull thing 3 times no change

Here are a few options to try. First make sure your phone is disconnected from the computer.
Try to perform a battery pull when you see the "HTC Incredible" screen. If after powering up your device and you still get the "HTC Incredible" screen then try to perform a hard reset.
*Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications.
Follow these steps to perform a hard reset:
Press and hold down the Power Key
Touch Power OFF
Touch OK
Press and hold the Volume down key then press the Power / End key.
When the HBOOT screen appears, release the keys.
Press the Volume key to select CLEAR STRORAGE then press the Power / End key.
If prompted with Do you want to start update?, press the Volume down key to choose No. When prompted, Do you want to reboot device? press the Volume down key to select No.
This boot process takes several moments, reference the progress bar located in the upper-right. If the device hangs or freezes, remove / replace the battery.
Press the Volume up key to select Yes.

glad that worked out for you. I had to do a hard reset as well when my SD card suddenly said it wasn't properly installed. go figure. the hard reset fixed that too !
