I have owned every iphone version from the 2 all the way to the 4. I decided recently time for a change and I am loving the Atrix.

No doubt the iphone 4 is a nice phone but I really wanted to make the jump to Android. My expectations for build quality are quite high having owned so many iphones especially the iphone 4.

Atrix has not disappointed. The build quality of the phone is great. Even though I believe it may be about the same weight as iphone 4. The form factor makes it feel much lighter at least to me. I do not miss the iphone retina screen at all. In fact I prefer the screen on the Atrix. I am finding android is so much better than iOS.

Could go on and on as the Atrix has so many features but bottom line I am glad I made the switch.

I did the same thing and pretty much agree with you on everything!

Just a question for both of you:
Do you feel that Music/call Sound and Photo quality is inferior to iPhone? I did and ended up returning Atrix. Though I loved everything else about the phone, Android.

Music is on par, though I have only listened to it through headphones. Photo quality is better on the iphone. Call quality has some issues on the atrix, it's on the moto forums and something official should come up soon, according the their forums.

I find the call quality superior to the iphone 4. I am getting less dropped calls but also I find the Atrix call sound quality much better. I have not had time to compare photo quality or music.

I found that the signal matches that of my iPhone 4 and the call quality to be higher on the Atrix. I've yet to run into call quality issues everything to me sounds clearer and crisper and no one has said otherwise for the way I come across. As far as pictures go I don't really know. I hardly ever used the cameras on the iPhone 4 because I'm just not big into cell phone pictures regardless of their quality. I have a DSLR for pictures I care about. I only use my phone camera to take random shots of stuff that isn't very important to me.

Overall I havent missed my iPhone once since making the switch.

I switched from the iPhone as well and music quality was definitely worse by default. I turned off all the audio effects though and now it seems to be better.

Call quality was definitely better than on the iPhone (3GS).

I left the iPhone 4 and havent looked back. There are alot of other apps in the market that make the music experience MUCH better like PowerAMP or CarTunes. Love the camera, love the reception, no issues at all

Just made the switch myself and so far I am really liking the Atrix. Sound quality seems to be better and I haven't had one dropped call. Android is more flexible os and I like that a lot. I think the phone will get better over time.

Oh I forgot to mention music. The iPhone speaker is not that good of quality. I haven't noticed any difference between the music output though once connected to headphones or in the car.

I also use Double Twist for my media playing.

So DoubleTwist works for you? I've tried many many times and always end up with the same errors others are running into, namely a message that my Music No Longer Exists. I ended up using iSyncr to wirelessly sync with multiple computers.

I'm checking out the Atrix, as I'm interested in this powerhouse of a phone. I have an iPhone 4 as well. Surprisingly, I tested the music quality (no eq or effects through Bose in-ear headphones) against an Evo, Droid X, Droid 2, Captivate, and my 8 year old Creative mp3 player...and found the iPhone 4 has the worst sound out of all of them. I was shocked, as this was supposed to be Apple's thing.

I returned the Atrix yesterday. I couldn't get over the ugliness of the screen. I don't see how everybody thinks it's that great.? I'll miss some of the things of android, like the notification system, the openness, swype, and widgets, but other than that, not much else. Maybe I'll go back to android when there is a screen on par with the retina display.

I like the Samsung AMOLED screens as much as the Retina Display. The Retinina seems to be a little better than AMOLED when surfing the net (the words look a little sharper), but watching movies, or games with a lot of vivid colors looks better on the AMOLED.

I had an iphone 4 and returned it and went back to android. Android is so easy to navigate. I also like that you customize it right out of the box.

I am very picky about screens. I find the atrix on par with the iphone 4 which surprised me. The text is smooth no pixelation which is very important to me. Also I like the fact it is bigger than iphone 4 screen.

I am just really surprised how good this phone is.

Not everyone thinks the screen is great. There is currently nothing that can compare with the retina display, but I didn't want an iphone 4 and didn't want to wait for the iphone 5. The phone is fast, which helped ease the pain of the screen. Honestly, if a phone comes out with the speed or faster than the atrix and screen like the retina display, then I'm tossing the atrix out and buying the new one. I'll even pay the off-contract price, just to get a decent screen.

Respectfully, I like the Atrix screen as well as the Retina display. Plus, a major problem in using the retina display is that Apple won't reflow the text to fit the page when you size up a web page to be able to read it in bigger letters. Therefore, with my iphone 4 I had to continually pan back and forth, line by line, to read something. I do not have to do this on the browser on the Atrix.

That's a software issue and not a display issue though. That would be like me complaining because I can't cut and paste from the blur e-mail app and saying on my retina display I could do it. Software limitations or poorly implemented features are not the fault of the display.

That is a kinda silly quirk about the iPhone WebKit. In our API, which should be the same since we both use WebKit, it is the auto-fit page option.

Blur e-mail, along with other WebView based views support cut & paste via the keyboard at least. Hold shift and a d-pad direction, a small arrow cursor should appear, release shift and manuever cursor with d-pad and use the OK button to select and copy.

I fully realize it is a software issue. If you read carefully what I said I was that that the screen was in my opinion equivalent to the retina display, plus an additional problem in making use of the retina display is that Apple did not allow text reflow. No, it is not a function of the screen, but it effectively limits the ability to make use of it. I think Apple really blows it on that point. But yes, as I stated, I think the Atrix display is as good as the iPhone's retina display. Then add on to that the fact that the iphone won't allow text reflow and it is major handicap in usability of the iphone for browsing with its otherwise nice display.

I'll have to disagree with you. :)
