. . . but I'm learning some new tricks. Never owned a smartphone before, so this is one steep learning curve, and I keep making clueless-newbie mistakes.

I am really looking forward to a month from now, when I'll be more familiar with my Samsung Galaxy Proclaim (re-branded Samsung Illusion) running version 2.3.6. (Gingerbread? I'm still learning the lingo.)

Confession: I received my first call on it tonight and didn't know how to answer the dang thing. :D

This site sure looks like it can help while I'm fumbling around, and I'm glad to have found you guys.

Welcome to Android Central.

Yes your correct.. Android v2.3.4-v2.3.7 is Gingerbread

Answering the calls is either by pressing normally a green icon/bar/button or by pressing & holding an icon then swyping either left or right to answer the call.

There's a great source of information here and thousands of informative members to help you also.

As you can already tell, your never to old to learn some new tricks ;)

Enjoy the forums!
