So I'm a pretty inexperienced user to put it lightly. A couple of months ago, I rooted using towelroot, however I didn't unlock the bootloader. Today, I finally got the OTA, uninstalled xposed, unrooted and tried to update. However I was greeted with the dead android error screen. I rebooted, and now I'm back on KitKat with no OTA. Can someone please help me out here?

Download and use the all-in-one Nexus Root Tool Kit to flash the Nexus 5, your phone does not have to be rooted to use the program. I use it on my PC to flash the major updates to Android so I get a fresh clean OS on my phone that runs with no lag and is buttery smooth.

The program will download all the files you need, tell it to flash to Lollipop and not KitKat, and it will, your Data and Apps will have to be reloaded from the Google backup.
