I might be getting my wife the Revolution. One question.

So I got something in the mail yesterday saying that my wife's number could upgrade early. Now if we do this she'll lose the NE2 but we just got her the OG Droid off of Craigslist in January and it's giving her issues now and I don't think she'll be able to make it until January.

Anyway I'm honestly leaning toward the Revolution for her. Even though she says she doesn't care about LTE, I really want her to get an LTE phone. She doesn't like my phone because it's too heavy and I really don't want her to get a Charge because it's too expensive for what it is in my opinion. The funny thing is that she actually uses Bing more than Google anyway so that's actually not a ding against the Revolution for her and she likes the way the app drawer is organized.

The only thing I really need to know is if anyone uses a clip and if so do they have any issue with weight or it getting caught on something and dropping. I can tell that the phone is lighter than the Droid but the Revolution is a bit longer and she always has a clip for her phones and sometimes the Droid gets caught when she sits down or something and she doesn't want that to happen.

Have her try it out. It is a sweet phone. I don't get lte until 2012, so I pass. Sweet looking phone for those in lte zones. My girlfriend uses bing and loves it. It is a powerful search engine, and gets the job done.

We actually went ahead and picked up the Revolution today and she saw the pink silicone case and liked it. We saw the holster and I saw that it came with a shell also and I asked the rep if the phone would fit in the holster with the silicone case and he wasn't sure so we tried it and it fit like a glove. So she's just going to use it with the silicone case instead of the shell. We both really liked that the screen faces in. Her OG Droid screen faced out on the clip.

OP, how is she liking it so far?

I think she likes it. She had 2 random reboots and today she said that the phone wouldn't unlock for her and that it wasn't reacting to her touch. I told her it could be the anti-glare screen protector, but that if it happens again and if it reboots again then we'll take it back to get a replacement on Friday.

My Thunderbolt will occasionally have touch issues as well. It's only happened a couple of times, but it has happened. So we'll just have to wait and see I guess. It hasn't even been 2 full days yet because we got it on Saturday afternoon.

I just picked up the Revolution and my wife has a Thunderbolt. FYI, I've noticed my LG heats up quickly and the touch responsiveness goes down fast - and I haven't put on a screen protector yet (I may exchange it for another phone).

I noticed that I am getting much better signal than my wife - I am wondering if you had the same experience? For example, at home my wife was bouncing between -90ish to -95ish for 3G signal, but I am sitting around -82ish to -88ish. I was surprised because I had read reviews that said the Revolution was middling in quality on just about everything, and that the Thunderbolt was a little above par.

I'm also going to get to compare to a Droid X2 tomorrow, which is said to have great signal and call quality - but with 4G about to come here and the rumors that they will offer unlimited hotspot bandwidth on 4G phones then I am limited to the Charge, Thunderbolt, and Revolution. However, I've been burned on two phones by Samsung (Omnia and Epic 4G) - love the AMOLED screens but they have always had poor signal reception on Samsung devices (meaning a good 5 to 10 dBm difference to almost every other phone I've compared it to).

Revolution has much better signal than the Thunderbolt. I have had both phones so I'm speaking from experience. I guess it either just has better radio programming or better radio hardware.

I also use the shell holster from VZW for the Revo. Any case VZW sells for the revo will fit in the holster except the body glove one as it's a bit too thick. only issue with the silicone one is that the sticky surface will make it hard to slide in and out of the holster .. speciallly the thin silicone one.
