I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet, but someone has done what at least appears to be a mod to get the touchstone to work with an Evo. Don't know if it charges properly or anything, but it would sure be nice if it were true. On Youtube search "HTC EVO Touchstone Mod". (I evidently can't post links yet)

I haven't watched the video, but I very seriously doubt the EVO's packing the internals to work with the Touchstone. We would have heard about it in the teardowns if HTC had included the parts necessary for inductive charging.

As for physically altering the EVO to work with the Touchstone, unfortunately that's way out of most people's league unlike something like rooting.

Last I looked at me Pre, the only thing needed are contacts to the battery. All the voltage regulation is done on the touchstone. Seems feasible.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the Touchstone handled voltage regulation and thought that the phone itself required a bit more than adding contacts. Looks like I'll keep my Touchstones and hope the modification is real and relatively easy to implement.
