The original from Google is like 15+ shipping

Is there a good quality but cheaper and comes with its cable not only the device itself?

There are so many on ebay but most look crappy

Also, I read somewhere in the forum that as long as the charging is thru USB cable, any Android charger would do it with any Amps.

Is this correct?

Any recommendation is greatly appreciated

EvilMonkey is right. Or you could spend a little extra money on a thicker cable. The extra insulation helps data transfer.

It's just a micro USB so pretty much any charger will work. I just bought a cheap one at Walmart.

Sure just any might work... but there are times when the exact output is desirable, such as charging from 0%. The chip in the battery is looking for a specific charge rate and sometimes that correct charge rate is all that will do. For the Nexus 4 you need a transformer that accepts 110v-240volts AC input and delivers an output of 5 volts DC at 1.2 amps. If they don't list the spec on a cheap charger, move on. If you can't find it online, try Radio Shack. It will be better for your battery life to match the correct output. If the amps are too high it heats the battery more and degrades it faster.

Odd then that the really thick USB > micro cable I have from a Kodak camera fails to connect Nexus devices (GNex, N4, N7) when it works on everything else around my household...

And the really thin Nexus 7 cable seems to connect everything, including all Nexus devices.

The Nexus 4's USB > micro cable is supposed to have 200 ohms resistance.

Difference may be data vs. charging cable.
