I bought my TBOLT on the same day a few weeks ago as the OTA was sent out... I stupidly accepted it. I should have rejected and used the auto-root method listed in the stickies section... but now that I am stuck with the update I REALLY REALLY need to root this phone... Does anyone know the best or preferable easiest way to ROOT my device with the new OTA that just came out.... I am not quite a noob and have been in a member for a while but just want to make sure I know exactly what way will work best for my phone...

EDIT: DroidXcon updated the sticky for the one-click method for people like me :)

Let me take a look around for you, I haven't noticed anything yet but haven't really been looking.

We'll get you rooted :)

Seriously, Thank you... I really want to root so bad.... I am going through ROM withdrawal :) Please keep me posted... I did find one way but it is quite lengthy and involves adb which I have no experiece with. I also really don't have 4-5 free hrs to study up on how to do it too.. with school and work, ya know

Here is a thred over on XDA not sure if you have checked it but looks like you able to root after the update. Its not a one click method and you need to be able to use adb. Let me know.

Yeah I found that link a few days ago, and to be honest seems quite daunting to me... I really have no experience with ADB... Kinda makes me nervous to try it... perhaps I will wait for an updated (easier) method, but if one doesn't come around, I guess I will have no choice...

thanks again for the link, much appreciated :)

So, If I use your second link you posted on page (75 i think) it is the same as that...?

I already DL'd ADB/SDK and HTC sync earlier today...

i swapped out the download in the OP. check the last comment in that thread

you only need HTC sync for the auto root

Edit:yeah its the same using the same files
