I need to increase space on my Samsung Galaxy S5 but confused by all the options

Can anyone advise what all the different abbreviations mean in relation to micro SD cards? I think I want 32GB as we record a lot of video.
Also is it just as simple as adding it to the phone and transferring files? I have read a couple of things on here about formatting

Welcome to the forums. Are you referring to DCHC vs. SDXC?
