okay....Everyone knows the frustration with trying to get themselves ICS for their droids. I officially have figured out how to do it using a couple of downloads I got from:

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr/213197-offical-ota-zip-installation-guide-droid-razr-razr-maxx.html

This link will connect you to a play by play of how to do this...There are, however, a few instructions you must follow. I originally did this with my brand new droid razr maxx and it bricked it...but after following some instruction I found in the forums, I was able to uncover how to do this with ease!

(First of all, Unroot your phone)

Steps:

1. Download both the file titles Blur_Version.6.12.181.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip & also get the app that fixes a bricked phone, which is also on the first page of that forum called DroidRazrUtility1.7forICS.zip.

2. Upload the Blur file to the core of your SD card. Its as easy as plugging your phone in and doing a drag and drop onto the SD card.

3. Unzip the DroidRazrUtility to the C:\ Drive of your computer.

4. Turn your phone off and when turning back on, hold both volume keys and the power button until you get to a screen...scroll down with the volume key to recovery and than press up on the volume key to select recovery.

5. It will look like its rebooting and than you will see an "!"-----clicked both up and down volume keys once again and get to another screen.

6. At this screen, scroll down to wipe cache and click the power button, and than after thats done, scroll up and select Apply update from external storage. Once thats highlighted press power button again to select it.

7. You should see the blur file that you uploaded to your SD Card on it. Click it and let it run. This is trying to install the update. You should have a 50/50 shot at this part. If it works...your done with my instructions (Will take about 15 minutes before you see if it failed or not) If it doesnt work...move on to step 8

8. Turn your phone back off by holding all buttons again and than turn back on by holding up/down volume and the power button. You will get to the same screen, now scroll down to something I think its called AP Fastboot. Click down on the volume rocker and than up once thats highlighted to select it.

9. Connect your phone to your computer and run the Droid Razr utility from your C:\ Drive.

10. First do Option 1....Once thats finished, go back to the main menu and do option 2.

11. After both these are done....restart your phone once again holding all three buttons (Volume up/down and power) - scroll down to recovery and than click volume up to select it. You will get to the "!" screen - click volume up/down and that will bring you to another menu.

12. Now you have to do two things at this point...Wipe all data/factory reset and than when thats accomplished, wipe cache partition.

13. Now restart your handset again back into the first menu Volume up/down and Power button held until you see menu...Highlight Recovery and click up on volume rocker...

14. At the "!" screen, click volume rocker up/down once and it should send you to the Android System Recovery Utility. go to apply update from External Storage, and than click on that and than click on the blur file. Let this update run....

15. Thats it! It should run after that! If it doesnt, go back to the main menu and do APfastboot and plug your phone into the computer and run the Droid Razr Utility. Rerun the step 1 on that and that should unbrick your phone and bring it back to stock Gingerhead (hehe)

Enjoy the read and goodluck everyone!

Hello i was wondering does this work with 3.0 USB or 2.0? Also do you have to be rooted?

You dont have to be rooted. But good question on the 3.0 or 2.0. Not sure is the maxx is 3.0 ready as the data cable/charger cable that came with the phone is only black on the inside and not blue

Thanks Djuno420!

ICS is sweet!

I had to complete all 15 steps! I wanted to confirm that it works for anyone that wonders about whether to upgrade or not!

Thanks again! :D

USB 3.0 will not work. use USB 2.0, alright Bro's... heh, i can vouch that i used this same program to gain root on mine, so... yeah.
