I Rooted Then Updated Now Problem

I rooted yesterday. Today I updated the firmware to the current build of 1.70. After the reboot I got a screen for ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5 that appears it is trying to install it. It shows progress an also the following: E:failed to verify whole-file signature. Then it says installation aborted.

I do not know where ClockworkMod came from. Has it anything to do with the auto-root I did? The screen gives me options including reboot system now. I do that, and when my TBolt starts up again, after about 30 seconds a screen shows up and says Power off - shutting down. Then after the restart it tries again to install or start ClockworkMod.
It?s stuck.
Any help out there?

I hope u did not accept the ota that will brick your phone. The clockword mod is a related to auto root and root In general

I updated using the settings/software/update on my TBolt. It appears that I have to stop clockworkMod from updating itself somehow. I can't keep my phone on long enough to do anything, it want's to keep rebooting and install the update.

Did you make a backup after rooting if so you should be able to restore in recovery.

You most likely bricked your phone. You cannot take OTA updates once rooted. Good Luck on getting a replacement.

I don't think he bricked his phone and sure we can find a solution to fix his phone and if not I have never had any issues getting a replacement from Verizon.

If you can get into Clockwork you should be fine. Download a custom rom, put it on you sd card. then boot up into clockwork and do a full wipe and install the rom you put on your sd.

Yes, I did backup my phone. I am not sure how to proceed. Do I use the backup and restore option in the ClockworkMod Recovery screen I have up?

Thanks all for your replies.

I"m guess I'm just a dumb Sr. Citizen that is trying to get rid of all the crap that Verizon wants to load on my $250.00 phone.

Thanks again.

One more thing: With the 30 or so seconds before the constant reboot, I went to settings/about/software version and noticed that the build is now showing 1.13.605

I can't figure that out.

Yes use the restore option in CW recovery then select your backup and that should fix your problem, let me know how it works out.

I also had to clear/wipe the cache from the clockwork advanced menu. Once I did that, the phone booted and I got a message that the update failed.

I had the exact circumstance the OP has...I followed this procedure the opjones talks about, downloaded the Plain Jane Froyo Rom and Radio and put it on the SD card. I did not do a full wipe...just wiped Cache and Davlik cache...kept all my background stuff just fine...

Only hiccup for me was that I had to turn off signature verification with ClockworkmodRecovery before the ROM would load..it had me sweating for awhile.

OK, it looks like I'm back to normal. I did the full clear and wipe that was suggested and now the phone quit re-booting on me. I now will try to get a new rom and radio installed.
Thanks to all.
