I Rooted, Will that effect the battery?

Hello,

I rooted my Slider and it worked the first time.

I have Super User, Titanium Back up, Juice Defender & CPU Tuner installed. I haven't changed anything else, except for a few games.

I read about changing ROM's however don't know much about them and what they do to get into it.

My question is about the battery, life and charging methods.

I rooted last week and also purchased a cheap extended battery off of ebay. I don't do a lot with my phone, however notice that my battery life isn't that great even with the new battery.

When I installed my new 3000mAh battery I charged it initially for 7 hours with the phone off, before my 1st use. When I first installed it, it showed 82% as indicated by Battery Indicator.

I do not stream music or videos off the net, download very much.

I have Juice Defender installed and have the profile set to "Aggressive" which keeps my 3g turned off when the phone is sleeping. I Have always had my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned off as I don't use them.

On CPU Tuner (App) I have the governor set to ondemand as suggested by some of the things I read.

Should my battery last more than 1 day?

I need to charge my new extended battery as much I had to charge the stock battery.

Do I need to do something to my phone since I installed a different battery and rooted it?

Rooting and battery life are completely unrelated. Did you follow any applicable instructions for the initial charge of the battery?

Yes, the instructions stated to charge 5-6 hours before use.

I charged for 7 hours with the phone off, before my 1st use.

Yesterday I let my battery drain completely down and the phone shut off. I charged it for 14 hours and unplugged it and started using it.

After about 3 hours of light use, it dropped about 15%.

My battery % is all over the place now.

It will show 85% then I plug it into the charger, then 90% then 100%, I unplug it and it will show 94% after it just showed 100%.

I don't understand it.

I don't have a live wallpaper and screen brightness @ 30%.
