I have tried a few times but the whole ecosystem Apple is 2nd to none. Google is nowhere close. Apple products may not be as customizable but they are so much better in day to day use.

I'd like to understand how you came to the conclusion Apple has the better ecosystem in day to day use when you have not immersed yoursel in another?

I use Samsungs ecosystem while my wife and daughters use Apples.
There is no measureable difference in how well they function within each others own group of products.
My Samsung devices do just as much as their Apples, and its just as easy.

The real difference comes when you try to do anything outside of the "walled" garden.
The Apple devices wont do hardly squat with other things like Samsung or LG Tv's.

All while my Samsung devices play just fine with everything.

I'm thinking most don't like change. Those steeped in Apple's ecosystem will resist it most, even though the messaging platforms play nicer with each other now.
That said, the writer isn't wrong. The Pixel phones, watch and buds are actually very good, as is the software. Add that to Google's lead in emerging technologies like AI and ML and you've got a enticing package to be sure.
