I switched! HTC Inspire to Atrix! :) In addition...

I did it. I switched from the Inspire to the Atrix. I'm actually satisfied with my decision. Though I've only had it a day... it's pretty quick... not all that laggy to me, and so far so good.

Don't get me wrong. The HTC Inspire is nice, but the size and battery life was just a complete hog. I've been playing here and there with my Atrix and so far, the battery life is noticeable how much better it is... YET like I said... only had it 3/4 of a day.

Bottom line... each and every phone is gonna have it's likes and dislikes. All I need is a case and I've been reading, everyone seems to like the Defender Otterbox case. The bar soap size of this phone and it's construction makes it kinda slippery and know this will help alot!

I'm not sure if I should download ADW or Launcher Pro ... input anyone?

One more thing, when I added a new email account, my contacts got lost. I had to go back to the At&t store to restore my contacts. I was told to get a Google mail account, which I did, and also get Google Sync which I did $1.99. So... ummm... How do I sync my contacts to my Google account? Can someone please offer suggestions.

I think i'm gonna be happy with this phone

I have both phones. They both have their pros n cons but I.use the Atrix is def the better of the two. I like to use the LauncherPro and upgrade to the Plus to get the calendar widget which links to google so its on both phones when I switch SIM cards. Have fun with your Atrix its an amazing phone.

I'm confused. You don't need any apps to sync your google contacts. Just add the account under the settings and then select contacts to sync.

Settings, accounts, then select gmail account with the contacts, then check box to sync.

Ok, so I re-read the first post, thought it said how to sync gmail contacts, not sync contacts to gmail. On another note, I like ADW Ex.

I've tried ADW and Launcher Pro and settled on Launcher Pro and upgraded it to the Plus version. Well worth it for the extra widgets and the such. Plus I also have the gingerbread theme loaded so I'm satisfied. I also switched from the Inspire to the Atrix due to rotten battery life and horrendous volume on the Inspire.

I like personally ADW Launcher EX myself. It has better customizable features. Especially the feature to change how you flick your sreens. Theres like 7 different transitions. But after using both for awhile, Ive switched back to MotoBlur for right now. Just want to use something different. Ill switch back again in a couple weeks lol.

do you use home switcher or moto home fix? I found out that when I have moto home fix installed, my motoblur doesnt allow me to see the sense style all screens when you press the home key at your home screen.

Also, LP+ has screen transitions as well........and they are named instead of numbers

I will admit after my first full day with the Atrix, my battery life is amazing!!! I'm so happy I went with this phone! The phone's outer casing, is slippery and cant wait to get the Otterbox Commuter case. Some say, it's bulky etc... It looks like it fits like a glove in my opinion.

I completely agree with you on the battery life and horrendous volume on the Inspire. When it was in my pocket, even in vibrate mode I couldn't tell if I had a text or email unless I looked. The Atrix in both modes is significantly noticeable! I'm surprised how good my battery life has held up throughout the day. I was afraid cause alot of members were saying otherwise!

Oh I didnt know LP upgraded to that. I have both of them paid. I just always used ADW. And I always use home switcher for froyo. Never had moto home fix. But never had any problems with home switcher though.

Yuppers! You can have all of the launchers you want installed and switch back and forth between them with home switcher. You can test them out if you like. That way you know which one your gonna stick with, and then best to just delete the others. Now Im using MotoBlur cause Im normally on ADW EX all the time, just wanted something different again.

And yes, you will notice the battery life is the best on an Android phone period! Its amazing. If you dont have many widgets that update constantly, its better for the battery also. But that monster 1930mAh is a beast!
