I think I found the reason behind the Walmart issues.

Looks like another mobile payment app is coming out in the form of Walmart Pay. It only works at Walmart and it uses QR codes just like the new mobile payment system Chase is releasing. This is beginning to get out of hand, we should just have one payment system for each platform. Tried my PNC debit card at Walmart today. Massive failure. Swiped card and it worked fine.

I'm starting to think you have to use the card as credit if it has a chip and the cc machine has a chip reader

Just to comment how many Samsung phone owners shop at Walmart... last time I went to walmart was 2 months ago and only because they were open and I had a bit of a car emergency at 11 PM.
