No. Similar things pop up all the time on ios as well as android. Then said security hole is patched. If a sophisticated enough hacker wants into a phone they probably can manage it. Same can be said about all things in life these days... Better just to live your life and not worry about it.

Not really worried... There are Vulnerabilities in any system.

In any event it sounds like you have to get a video message, and I blocked all multimedia messages from my carrier a long time ago.
