I updated to Lollipop and my contacts won't load. Why is this happening?

When I go into my contacts it constantly says "updating contacts..." but doesn't load contacts. Is there something I need to do?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are the contacts syncing from Google?

Try going to Settings>Accounts-Google>[your Google account]​, uncheck Contacts, then check it again. Does it sync successfully this time?
