I used to be OBSESSED with Nova Launcher - now I prefer the Pixel Launcher

The white circles around icons that aren't rounded are a good thing. I like all my icons to be round.

But why can't said apps be round in the first place?!

Hmm. Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure I use a launcher, either. In fact, I had to google "Pixel launcher" to find out what it actually is. I simply tap on the apps I want to use, and that's it...

You are using the stock launcher

It's your interface with the phone. The thing you see and tap to start your apps or open the phone dialer. It's just called a "launcher" and can be changed to another launcher for various other options.

Most OEMs like Samsung, LG, or whatever, make their own to give their devices a specific look. Samsung calls theirs One UI, but used to be Samsung Experience, and TouchWiz before that.

Thank you for being so patient with a noob! :)

I was there too 2 years ago. No clue one could change this.

2years ago, I came here specifically bc I was sooooo annoyed I couldn't take the labels off of the app icons on my S7 (as if I needed "Chrome" written below the Chrome icon... Isn't that the point of an icon???) I was hoping someone would have some trick on how to get rid of those on my Samsung. There was no trick but that was when I discovered the wonderful world of third party launchers. Enter: Nova Prime and mindblown.gif. lol
