I am am going to hold my breath, stomp my feet, and flail on the floor at the mall until I get it.

OK, I feel better now.

I am enjoying the intrigue of this process. The inside sources, then the vague comments, and all.

I want froyo, but kinda need the update that come with it.

Anyhow, this is fun, but i WANT MY FROYO

if you want it so badly, just do the manual update.

Such a familiar question:

1. The leak has bugs. Most have patches, BUT still, seems a bit strange to download a buggy leak and a few patches just to save 1-31 days.
2. I would have to root to do the OTA.
3. I care less about froyo quickly, but more about the original OTA.

(Note: Root will void warranty. I have no other phone to use if my phone gets bricked or ruined. Even though root and such might not be a problem, what happens if my phone screws up and it is rooted? I am out of luck and pay a ton for a replacement.)

To sum it up, a person who knows very little about phones may decide to be patient (albeit a little annoyed) instead of voiding his warranty to install a buggy month old version of an update.

Root does not void the warranty. Flashing non-official does do that. Either way if something goes wrong all you need to do is ruu back to factory.

Sent from my phone, indeed!

Are you sure root does not void warranty? I was lead to believe by others that it did.

I AM GETTING IMPATIENT.

Can we please just get a date from VZW?

That would make all the difference.

VZW isn't allowing Sprint have all the fun and glory. VZW has announced when the Droid and DroidX are getting FroYo. It's just that we as DInc owners are left out in FroYoless cold. Surprise!!!

I agree, I find it hard to believe VZW would let Sprint have all the fun and glory by announcing froyo...

Good thing I have starcraft 2 or I don't know what would occupy all of my inter-nerd time.

I don't feel so incredible.. if it was up to HTC we'd have froyo already and you'd think VZW would recognize the fact that a lot of bb storm users switched to this phone (including myself) and were extremely impatient after that experience.

I though the incredible was going to get froyo this week sometime . I saw the Evo was delayed on froyo , so until they get theirs. I doubt it is released to the incredible but who knows maybe vzw will still go for it , lol .
Either way my phone is working great like it is .:) Much better then what I had .

I agree. This is like waiting for those stupid BB updates from them... took FOREVER! This is not cool. Revolt, I say!

Yeah I remember the Storm would be slated for an update, get a specific date and then they would pull the update for another couple of weeks. Does everyone remember the last one? The landscape was all messed up. We are at the mercy of VZW.

And since the leaked version had bugs, do you think Verizon was better off waiting a couple more days to iron them out before shipping an update?

I thought it was stupid how that originally the Dinc was suppose to be the first to get Froyo....now we don't even have a date.

That version is dated 7/3 and the bugs have patches that are out. There is a new leak version 8/1 that is out but people smarter than I am suggest the way it is suggests we may be a few weeks (more than 2) away from the official OTA.

The date talk is all conjecture but fun intrigue!

I don't know who this guy is, but his unofficial sources now say "late summer" for Incredible & X. I was thinking about rooting and installing the leaked one, but then I started wondering how to make sure I got all the fixes and stuff. I don't want to read 150 pages of threads hunting for fixes and downloading endless patches. I really just don't have the hours to spend doing it. Guess I'll just wait it out... :(
