So I was flashing new roms and what not using rom manager so of course I used clockwork mod, but now, it seems that clockwork is preventing me from charging the phone while it is off (automatically boots to recovery console) How exactly can I remove it or is there a fix for it? I've tried fastboot and it doesn't seem to work for me.

This is an issue with the TBolt right now, don't think there is a fix yet. You have to have clockwork recovery to flash ROM's.

As far as I know it is TBolt specific. I had no problems with it with my D1 or the Fascinate.

Nice to know. Hopefully there's a fix for this soon, I miss my bump charging...

If you plug you phone in when it is turned off it will always boot into recovery. If you leave the phone off and plug it in it will charge, or if you turn it on then plug it in, or if you just let it go into clockwork and tell it to reboot. I dont think its a problem with the tbolt, i think thats just how clockwork is, if i plug my Dinc in right after it powers off it goes into recovery as well

no, it seems to be more of TB issue.

I never had this issue with clockwork and my moto droid.

This is not a specific Thunderbolt issue. It's a bug in clockworkmod that has plagued many other phones, and there seems to be separate fixes for each phone.

Try to enable fastboot: Menu>settings>applications>check or enable fastboot

If that doesn't work then try this:

1) disable fastboot
2) shut down via power button
3) turn back on
4) enable fastboot
5) shut down
6) turn back on (you will notice speed increase on boot)
7) bump charge as normal starting from charge to green while on

what other phones has this been a problem on. As I said, it has not been a problem with moto droid.

BTW, I tried your suggestions and no go.

This isnt really a big problem - just hit reboot in clockwork

I'm guessing it's an HTC-related issue as people have mentioned it on the Incredible. Definitely didn't have the problem on the OG Droid or Fascinate.

My TBolt does in fact charge while powered down and CWR is showing on the screen--I've tested this repeatedly.

I upgraded ROM Manager to 3.0.2.0, which according to the bugfix notes is supposed to fix the charging issue for HTC phones, but it looks like it still boots to CWR when charging the phone while off. Am I misreading the notes?

And, I've tried every fix I've seen in the various forums to not have CWR appear after about 10 sec. when charging powered down without success.

You may also want to try this:
1. Power down the phone
2. Touch your nose twice (once on each nostril)
3. Wash your hands (you just had them on your nostrils)
4. Towel dry your hands
5. Plug in your TB
6. Watch as CWR powers up your phone
7. Cuss like a sailor and try another fix

No, it was only for a few HTC phones not all of them. It will only be a matter of time before they have a fix for the Thunderbolt

Patience my friend, patience.

Oh I was just joking. I don't stress the small stuff. I'm not one to pine over battery life, mine makes it as long as any other phone that I have owned. It gets me through the day that's all I need, but I digress, back on topic.

Doesnt happen with my dincs with clockwork 2.5.x and up.

Not familiar with clockwork on other phones so i don't know where to weigh in on that.

I bet there will be a fix in an upcoming release of cwm tho.

After updating ROM Manager, did you update Recovery? I know it is the obvious thing but sometime we miss the obvious things :D

After I installed the latest Recovery and with fast boot not checked, when I plug the phone in to charge after shutting down, it does not boot into Recovery

Bump charge until your heart is content!
