I want to update from zvd

When the new Gingerbread came out and had all of those issues I was messing around with rooting. I tried different ROMs and never really liked any of them, so I did the revert back to ZVD. So my phone is rooted, running Xionia recovery on ZVD. It keeps bringing up notifications to update to the fixed Gingerbread that just released but when I try to update it never works and I think it's because of my recovery; is that right? If so I just want to go back to stock completely and update this thing. Any info on how to do that? I looked at some how-to's and none of them seem to work.

If I understand you correctly, you are currently running a zvd rom with a custom recovery. I assume you want to upgrade to the ZVJ basband with a rooted rom there too. Follow this link for achieving ZVJ and root. It requires you to be on a previous baseband and root to start off so you are set there.

Note, there is no method to root ZVJ except to follow the above method (there are a few other threads on rooting ZVJ but they all use the same exploit and procedure). If you update to ZVJ in any other manner you will not be able to root without reverting to a previous baseband and rooting it first.

I would think that if you just unroot you should be able to update. I'm sure there is a unroot method on here. I just romed after I updated to the fixed gingerbread and didn't like it. The devs have been brewin up some good roms tho.. have you ran any of the zvd roms? once I put reborn on my phone I fell in love with the optimus again.. lol good luck.

Idk I'm using cm9 for the zvd its amazing. You should try it before you update to zvj
