Hey guys,

I have the G3 and love it. But it was laggy, and it got hot and my battery life wasn't that good either.
I came here and looked for some ideas. What I noticed in the usage stats was a high % of use by the OS and system. I had %s like 20 percent, a lot higher compared to other phones I used. Standby time was also horrible. My iPhone would use a couple of % during the night (not being used), the G3 used 30%.

In the end, I decided to wipe my microSD card (64GB). I didn't expect it to have big impact...but I was wrong.

I had been moving my SD card from phone to phone and it was kinda messy and only had 30 GB available. So I erased everything, rebooted my phone...and I was stunned by the speed and lack of lag. I was planning to do a factory reset to make sure I got rid of the lag, but I don't it will be necessary.

Has anyone here noticed this as well? Still have to see the impact on the battery and the device getting hot, but already feeling so so so happy. I always thought this device should run a lot faster....and now it does!:D

I see this is your first post on AC. Welcome to the forums!

My guess is there was a file that the OS was having a hard time figuring our what to do with. That in turn caused the lag, the higher processing power, and the battery drain.

When did you wipe the card?

Whenever I get a new device and use an old SD card, I always wipe the sd card and format it with the new device and load all my files back in the card in order to avoid any problems. Most of the times, I get a new card with a new device. Glad to see you have your device working to your satisfaction! :)
