not really off-topic since those with their phones on here are in the path and will be posting if they can. very glad it's turned away a lot. I was pretty freaked for my friends, work friends, and my work.

I'm in eastern NC, and we're going to get at least drowned if it continues on the projected path. If it veers a bit west, my 6 month old "new roof may have to get replaced. (Free material and labor for 10 years, so no worry other than the house getting destroyed. Minor little thing.)

We're going to need a new hurricane scale one of these days - I've seen estimates of over 200mph winds (gusts, but still winds) in this one.

laugh if you will, but I've been doing a lot of praying over this storm and will continue. my son is in the path too now that it veered so it needs to veer even harder to the right. friends, etc., in FL are still not out of the woods either.

Yeah, I think it will miss those places but you never know. Just keep an eye on the National Hurricane Center updates. It's at 185MPH winds and only moving 7mph... I'm sure gusts are over 200mph, not good...Bahamas gonna be leveled. Hitting them right now.

it's a bad one. my son's in NYC and he did Sandy. bad deal there too. Bahamas... the pics... the pics will be awful

I cannot even imagine what 200 mph winds would be like. Watching the Weather Channel - they are using terms like "uncharted" and "unprecedented" - these are not comforting terms.

My brother with these things you never really know. May catch trailing edge of it fizzle out in the Atlantic.

Or it makes a hard left and comes to see Jersey, NY, Mass and a host of others.
I pray for us all.
My grandkids and daughter lives in Royal Highlands, FL missing them completely.

that's what I've been praying for. just make it go away. still can't talk about all that's happened to NOLA. it's a favorite place of mine and my son. great memories from NOLA though neither of us live close now.

We usually holiday in Cuba around this time of year and this year will be no exception, we know this is a vulnerable time for alot of countries in the area and we came as close as we would like to hurricane Mathew in 2016, a last minute change of direction spared us but devastated a few towns close by.
