Hello.

So I'm getting this phone today (AWESOME!) but wanted to ask something.

I know it's getting Ice Cream Sandwich, but will it look like ICS? Or will Motorola get it's grubby hands on it and fuse it with MotoBlur? Just wondering. I'm guessing that will happen? Since only stock ICS goes to google phones?

Kinda how official Gingerbread on Thunderbolt, is really just HTC Sense again, nothing looks different? Will it be like that with Motorola?

Thanks.

If you are getting this phone, then you should be willing to accept that ICS on this phone will have the hands from Motorola in it somehow (in whatever you want to call it whether it is Motoblur, or something else)

Yeah I know, just wanted to know how ICS would be on the phone.

It seems like Motoblur will be slapped on it. That's fine. I just like how the menu's and all look on ICS, any idea if we will get a ICS theme or something?

If you just had to have vanilla ICS, then you should have picked up a Galaxy Nexus... but it looks like you want Motorola to stop putting it's own skins on it's devices... just not going to happen.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.

or said a little differently

if it looks like a Motorola phone, and it acts like a Motorola phone, then why in the world would ICS not be Motorola skinned?

That is what it is going to look like.

Theme: Motorola themed.

Look: Motorola look

I am not sure how many more ways we can describe it for you so that you will be able to accept it.

Oh, and before you ask. Second quarter

I'm just wondering, I'm fine with ICS theme or Motoblur (both are definately an improvement over HTC Sense that's for sure).

Ok thanks guys.

I still wonder how to navigate without the Back button? We have Gingerbread on our Galaxy Tab where it vanished, and I just don't get it. What do you do instead?

I read somewhere it's going to be 3 little dots ... in a vertical position. In the top right corner of the app, say Gmail.

Think of motoblurs ICS when compared to g-nexus ICS as French vanilla bean ice cream..... its still vanilla ice cream (ICS ) but with ground up beans in it (motoblur)....

I don't expect Motorola's ICS to be a severe change... ICS is just android... like cake... motoblur is a UI, like frosting. All ICS elements should be there plus added features (motoblur). .. I wouldn't worry.

First don't expect a huge difference in looks. Blur has always been blan . They don't do fancy menus or what not. That's one reason its easy for motorola to upgrade there's little bloat.

Yeah, I have to wonder why follks dis Blur, since it barely exists. The VZW cr@p is more irritating than anything Moto puts on there.

Agreed. I have the Go Launcher Ex set to hide all the crap from Verizon.

I actually prefer this version of Blur to Sense. I love that I can have Phone, Text, and Browser locked to the bottom at all times for one.

Yeah it's a pretty sweet feature.

The only gripe I have with Motoblur is the messaging app isn't too nice, or atleast the bubble color. Anyways there's tons of messaging apps.

Yeah, both the phone app and the text app are way better than on the orig. Droid, and so far I've just lived with them, tho' there are parts of each that are kind of dumb. But I really am trying to live with a handful less apps this time to keep this Porsche from becoming a Dodge Pickup.

Moto's Gallery app is the killer for me. That thing is terrible. Thankfully, there are plenty of other options. Moto BlurNotBlur has actually grown on me in general though. HTC's Sense feels so heavy after using the Razr for a while.

And after seeing asop ics on razr it is kick azz better then nexus

Where is everyone seeing these Stock ICS pics on the razr? I checked on XDA and didn't find anything could I get a link?

One thing most ppl dont realize is that Blur, Moto Application Platform, the skin formerly known as Blur...lol..is the closest skin to stock Android than the others. I have a Rezound and RAZR. And the Rezound with Sense UI is heavier than whats on the RAZR.

Put it like this: the Rezound vs the RAZR...ICS might be more recognized on the RAZR than Rezound. I seen some HTC phone (the Ville?) with ICS and Sense 4.0 and just based on the lock screen its hard to tell its running ICS. The home screen dock area you can tell tho.

What was shown for the RAZR recently...the lock screen does look different...but to me ICS still might be more recognizable on the RAZR.

IF that holds true for ICS on the RAZR....just looking at the home screen it could be mistaken for a G Nex. And in all honestly...what they did with GB on the Droid X1 and RAZR...I think whatever Moto does with ICS will be nice.
