Im kind of new to android, I just made the turn from iphone and just saw the ice cream sandwish's presentation and it seems great. By reading here in the forum i understand that updating the android is rather complicated. What about ICS" android 4.0. Is it going to be available for us infuse users? What do you guys know about the update? Is there any way to hack or something.? No gingerbread = no icecream sandwish?

A pretty stable version of ATT Gingerbread has been leaked for our phones.

Check it out over at XDA.

It will most likely be put into a ROM later on, but an official release? Not likely. But i probably wont have the phone by then anyway...

I just read that both froyo and gingerbread phones can be upgradable to ICS. Even though the update date depends on the manufacturer (samsung)
. it seems that there is a shortcut between froyo and ICS. Also in the same article it said that google would stick with ICS for 2 or 3 years so I guess we will receive it one way or another even if we stay with the same phones. I love the infuse. If you guys know more info let me know. Thanks guys

It looks like this is all a year old. I was prowling about looking for information on flashing ICS onto an Infuse i997. Dad has one of those and mentioned at his 81st birthday he would like to get ICS onto the device.

I suppose the next stop is at XDA sub for infuse then over to CyanogenMod to see whats cooking. Get it? Cooking, kitchen rom. mmm yes, not real meaty of a pun.

Although in their 80s the folks are as sharp as a couple of tacks. Speaking of, they were needling me about AOKP as in what the hell is a Kang Project and how fast can I get that from XDA and root their i997 infuse and get it on it.

Their GS2 was simple enough download and run the newest kies and its a done deal in a few minutes.

I guess im off to XDA to see whats up with Kang Project and i997.

Lol, i'm just impressed that your 81 yr old dad knew about ICS!
