Icon touch detect area not centered at icon

I notice when touching an icon it's best to touch below the center of the icon or there may not be a response. The smaller the icon the more this is noticeable, for example, touching the center of the back (back arrow), home (circle) and recent apps (square) icons, at the bottom of the screen, often causes nothing to happen but touching below the icon on the bottom edge of the screen always works.

At first I though it was a sensitivity issue since sometimes touch would work and sometimes it wouldn't but after fiddling for some time discovered what the real issue was. Is this an issue with my particular phone or is this a common BLU phone glitch?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have a screen protector on?

Thanks! No screen protector. I'm guessing a touch screen calibrator could correct the offset and will run it by BLU Tech Service. It's not really a big deal since I now know how/where to touch. But any other ideas or suggestions would still be welcome.
