Ok I have to ask, I'm surprised I've never seen it mentioned before.
What's that bullseye on top next to 4g? And I have gps off. (or I think? It's gray on 3 screen to left).

It's the GPS icon. When it's on youll see 2 quarter circles on its right.

I'm 99.99% sure that is indeed GPS, I'm pretty sure of this because the icon makes somewhat sense. And, it went away today when I was fooling around with the widgets after hitting the widget for GPS. It also somewhat looks like the world on the GPS widget.

I think that the little target icon is location services. When enabled, it allows the network to determine your location, and pass it on to services that request it (eg. Google). When my GPS is active and in use, I see a little satellite dish with green waves emanating.

yes it is the location services, and even if you turn maps and what not off it will remain because your E911 emergency service is always turned on by law
