Android Central Question

Hi there,
For a long time I have noticed that icons of apps pop up regularly in my notification bar, each for about a second, especially Gmail and Whatsapp. I assumed that this was a new feature to notify me when these apps updated in the background, but this behaviour has stopped since I uninstalled the app "Dual App Lite" from the chinese developer Hide Apps. Is it possible that this app has been reading my Emails and messages? I haven't used it for any of the apps whose icons popped up.
I hope you can help to clarify and thanks in advance.
Best wishes
Max

Welcome to Android Central! One can never be sure, but if you installed the app from the Play Store, it should be safe. Here's what the developer says about user data: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...r.dual.app.lite&hl=en_US&gl=US&token=vr_Ur1h_

Since that app's purpose is to "clone" an app such that you can use it for two different accounts, it would not be surprising to me that those app icons are briefly appearing in the status bar.
