I created a folder on one of my home screens to hold all me games. I then added all my game shortcuts the usual way. Problem is some of the icons are generic with the name below. There is no distinct picture like when I bring up all the apps via the up arrow.
Should I remove & recreate or is there a more serious problem?

this usually happens to me and it sucks because mysteriously those apps happen to get uninstalled magically and i have to re install or sometimes i just need to reboot my phone. it also occurs when i get a bad temp root.

I highly recommend Folder Organizer Lite in the app Market. Takes a while to figure out how to use it properly, but once you do it makes keeping your folders looking the way you want them a snap.

+1 for folder organizer. It can be a pain to set up but you have a lot of options. Coming from BlackBerry I'm used to having everything in folder rather than just a mess of applications.

Update:
I saved my setup as a scene. When I switch to another scene then switch back, all the icons are restored. This icon problem usually happens after I restart my phone. I can live with this now.
