When I download the upgrade from VZW, it completes and validates the download. This fails. I've tried the upgrade in two different locations about 5 times. Anyone have any ideas before I wipe the phone?

I don't know if you have rooted but if you have it might have something to do with your validation.
You do not get rid of Safestrap by just deleting/uninstalling it. There is a method to completely uninstall it but I can't remember where I found it.

Didn't root the phone. Stock from Verizon. I'm wondering if there is an app not playing nice with my wifi.

Rebooting now, giving it another go...

I tried wi-ff, 3G and 4g. Same error. I rebooted and even wiped cache and it still won't validate. Frustrating.

If all else fails, do a factory reset first, then try the update. A pain, I know, but it may actually be beneficial otherwise, since some report sluggishness after updating to ICS, which then resolves after a factory reset.

That's the route I'm going. I swapped the SIM to my Nexus and about to FDR the Razr.

As I was afraid, it didn't work. I am wiping my phone now.

Oh the agony! :'(

Please say a little prayer. I'm going to get ICS today if it kills me!

Ok, I'll let you try first :)

Be sure to post the results.

Well, the factory reset seemed to do the trick. I did not allow the phone to log onto Google's server during the setup phase to make sure nothing was going to conflict with the upgrade. Honestly, what I'm seeing in the other threads, this should be part of the install anyway. Odd problems seem to be the norm most for those who did not wipe their phone first.

Watching a yellow bar make its way to the right....can't wait! :D:D:D
