Oh good lord, here we go again! I'm still recovering from the sneak attack ICS update and here comes a "fix".
I'll admit the fix for the first OTA update of my 1st day TB actually did fix the nightmare of that update, but the second update fix just made mine worse until they sent the "fix for the fix". Jeez, I've lost track of it all.
With the ICS nightmare, I finally bit the apple and did the ever dreaded FACTORY RESET. It finally made sense to me when someone here put it that I really shouldn't expect my old apps & settings (let's call them DOS) to play well on a smokin hot new Op (let's call it WIN7). Good analogy.
I just wish the statement that a Factory Reset is sooooo easy was true! Turned out to be a cluster. Massive time stealer, huge learning curve (what the heck are .apn's and why is MyBackup Pro warning me if I really want to do that?) reload apps or data first? App reload from MBUPro or Play Store? The list goes on. Keep in mind, I don't want to know this crap. Two evenings of goofin with it and its still screwy. Faster, but screwy, at least that part was right.
In fact, now that I have a spreadsheet I made during the last process with all the steps I took, bad moves I made, and huge amounts of collected wisdom from here and all over, I had planned on blowing out my TB...again. Think I'll wait till I see what this FIX does to every one. No sense in doing it twice.
At least this time the OTA push came during the day when I could defer it, and still make PHONE CALLS ( until I'm ready for my phone to be useless for even that basic function while we all took three days to learn its preset for hearing aids of all things) No 3am sneak attack.
I set it up for Saturday after 7:00 pm. I look forward to catching up with everyone and seeing how bad it is. Good luck to you all and see you then.
