I've noticed that since I upgraded to ICS when I turn on my xoom I have to choose open or camers. I can no longer touch outside the circle to open. Am I doing something wrong or is it set up this way.

You just slide the circle to what you want, unlock or camera.

Yeah, that is the standard unlock for ICS.. You are fine.
