Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me identify which region my S3 is from? It's the international version, bought in South America. However, I know for a fact that most electronics here are brought in from other countries. Any help would be appreciated.

If you still have the Samsung box that the phone came in, the country code is 3 letters on the label on the end of the box.

The country code s/b 3 letters in the lower right corner of the white label on the end of the box, across from the color of the phone.

Looked all over. The only three letters I found were CNR written on the inside of the lid. Does that tell you anything?

Thanks. The closest I came was a page that matched the csc and the other numbers I get from dialing *#1234# to either a Mexican model or one from Trinidad and Tobago. Don't know how trustworthy it may be though.

Good work! Looks like you're right. It's firmware for Trinidad and Tobago, but sold in Brazil.

so what does that mean for updates?
will you get them when theyre released where you live or the region the phone came from?

global s3, UK. Ask me anything and ill reply even if its just an intelligent (or stupid) guess ;)

No idea... Seems like I have a Brazilian phone with a Trinidad and Tobago firmware and a Venezuelan carrier... Can anyone shed light on which decides when I get updates?

Looks like you'll get updates when Brazil gets it and that's usually after Trinidad and Tobago but just before Venezuela
