This phone is it!

If ever there was a device that offers so many bells and whistles to keep you occupied while Sprint, "backhauls/redesigns/upgrades/wishes upon a star or whatever else it is they are doing" to improve their service, this phone is the one.

If you can appreciate the phone for all it IS and not dwell on Sprint Network's for all it ISN'T, you will not be disappointed with the abundance of features this phone has....

If your one of the ppl who rationalize your cell & msging coverage is good, and a lot of the time you'll have wi-fi available", then hands down this is the BEST device Sprint has ever offered. I think its endless list of pros will outweigh the one con of having a sub standard network to use it on, at least i feel that way. If ever their was a device that could almost make u forget about network speeds, the SGSiii can : )

I know some of you will still say, "what good is a great phone running on a network that crawls like a turtle" and find 100kbps abysmal and almost laughable, but truthfully, there are sooooooooooooooo many things u can do with this phone when u are not getting a strong data signal (Kindle, Reading content saved from Offline browsing feature, Games, Pictures, Listening To Music, watching videos, Customizing, etc etc etc ;)

I think in the end when (and if : ) Sprint gets their act together, loyal customers will be glad they stuck it out, and sticking it out with a phone like this is "far less tortureous" than it was with the assortment of last years devices : )

great post. The end part was kind of harsh since last year Sprint gave us the Epic4GTouch. But great post none the less. On my phone so i dont see the like button but will like it when at my computer.

Yeah, but for those who don't have a wifi connection in the important areas of their lives, everything falls back to Sprint's Data Network, as far as the phone's features go (that use a network connection).

ty! Wasn't trying to take ANYTHING away from ET4G, in total agreement it was/is an awesome phone, but the features and design of this latest SGS is steps above all the "gradual increases in performance/features we've had in the past". It seems each new phone had one or two "wow factors", but this one has like 25!

Its like, here, then here, then up here but now with this phone, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy upppppppppppppp hereeeeeeeeeeee ;)

yes if you have to totally rely on ur data coverage from Sprint and ur in a poor area, then maybe this phone cannot make up for that, but lucky for Sprint a lot of folks can "make do" and lucky for us, we got this GREAT device to "make do" on : )

LOL I know you weren't. My data usage right now is 530mg 3g ans 2941mbs wifi. At home im always on wifi. When i'm at work (work outside) I do switch over to 4G but only when im checking out videos or big downloads. Other then that 3 of the 5 areas i travel to i can only get 3g and its good enough to check twitter and emails.

It will be ruff on some people who depend on Sprints data most of the time but this post IMO was about reminding people that even though LTE is not up and running yet and won't be for a while (NYC By 3rd Quarter maybe) I still want this bad toy . I've tried everything to get my early upgrade. Sprint cancelled the add to my bill option so i can't even get it and pay layer lol. I really want to go tomorrow to get it but need to control my Sammy addiction and enjoy my vacation. When i get back ill pick it up.

Wow. You're like the perfect customer... happy to pay for an LTE phone without LTE service, and thrilled that you're getting practically nothing for your money. Why not save yourself about $75 a month and buy the phone and iae it only on wifi?

She just knows the LTE is coming soon.... She is just stating the phone helps alot but if you read she said if you don't have much wifi then it might not be for you... But if you got a lot of spaces with wifi your good.

Once LTE comes out it will all be good. Here is me with 14 days left in my billing cycle using my galaxy s2 with only wimax 4g.

As you can see I am not suffering. So once the network catches up everything will be good. :)

We are not paying just for a LTE phone. This is the Next Gen Galaxy S. Did you have the first Epic 4G then upgraded to GSII?

Wifi only service wouldn't work for most, We still have 3G to use. I read something awhile back when i joined this forum,
(If your service is that horrible that you can't enjoy your phone to its fullest and blame the carrier for this? Don't, blame yourself for not doing your homework and picking the best carrier in your area first, then a great phone.) more or less in those words

That's like buying a Vonage Phone and plan, calling them up complaining that you can't make a call because there service sux and that they false advertises there product. But when asked to check your internet connection to see why there's no dial tone, your answer is I do not have the internet, why would I need that for. lol

Everyone has good points in there post, So not really blasting anyone just more of a reminder that don't blame the phone or carrier. Do your part in choosing the best for you then everything else will fall into place. For Me, I have bee lucky enough to live in a big city area and Sprint has been great for me since 1996. So not having LTE for now not a problem since giving them my money will help them bring me better service.

Hi Cubfan! i love when ppl call me perfect, even if its in jest, still works for me...lol

Seriously tho, i am far from a perfect customer, but i do consider myself a well educated, well thought out consumer... Everything i buy does not come without tons of rationales from "can i afford it, is the price right, do i need it, how will it improve things for me etc..." Upgrading to this phone is no exception....

Sprint offers approx $30.00 savings a month vs At&t and Verizon, the 50 GB Dropbox, the ONLY network that has Google Wallet working on any phone other than Nexus (i've been lusting after that feature for almost ayear & a half and finally have it : ), unlimited data (it may be suppppper slow at times, but until u have had to use ur device worrying about every kilobyte, you haven't experienced the beauty of an unlimited plan) and a company that provides exceptional cust service. Again, rarely am not near either a wired internet connection (8 hrs at desk) or a wi-fi, not to mention all the other things i listed can be done with this super fast, super capable device, so to a Sprint customer like myself, its worth it.

Clearly, if you are a power user or rely on fast/reliable data coverage for business & if you aren't in a good Sprint coverage area, it may be time to switch networks, however, i stand by the statement for recreational Android users, this device on Sprint's network can be a very rewarding experience.

The defense rests, your honor... lol

Ha. Nice job. :)

Seriously, though... I think people are far too hopeful on these promised upgrades. Maybe it's the lower cost that brings the wishful thinking, but I'm certainly not gullible enough to sign up for another two year contract until I see something.

Network speeds are TERRIBLE where I am. 3G is nearly worthless. At least calls and text seem to be very good.

We've been promised before. I bought the Evo and paid $10 extra on the "promise" of Wimax that never hit my town. Then they decided to call it "premium data" as data did nothing but get steadily worse and then dropped off a cliff when all the iPhones started being sold to people who stream Pandora all day like fools.

I see no reason to forgive at this point. A great phone is nothing Sprint has done. Give Samsung the credit and hold Sprint's feet to the fire. Tell them that they need to come through, or we're leaving.

I'm giving them the rest of 2012. If I see no improvements before the end of the year, I'm bolting.

Re: If Ever A Phone Could Make You Forget/Forgive Poor Data Cover

I agree. 4G shouldn't be a deciding factor (though with LTE, you are guaranteed it to be "the" actual 4G that Sprint will be using now lol). I only used 4G Wimax on my Evo a handful of times, visiting relatives and such. It's fast, almost wifi fast, but the limited markets really hurt it for a lot of people.

Re: If Ever A Phone Could Make You Forget/Forgive Poor Data Cover

I am so with you, the jury is STILL out on if ANY phone is worth enduring a network experience that is almost "painful" to use.....The point of my thread was to say IF such a phone DOES exist that makes it worthwhile to hang in there with Sprint & see where it winds up in the coming months, SGSiii totally is that phone : )
