If I flash a RUU, will I lose my pictures and other files?

I've factory wiped before and I was able to keep my pictures and music. Will flashing a RUU allow me the same thing?

Yep, you won't lose anything that is saved on your SD card. Just on the internal memory. It's just like doing a factory reset.
