Does the tracking page tell you what time it can be picked up at the facility? I normally t UPS. It says the door tag will have a time. I am wondering if I will be able to see that time online. My husband and I both drive past the local fed ex center on our way home. It is about seven miles from my house.

Just call up FedEx. I missed mine and they never left a door tag. The woman told me I could pick it up after 5:30pm when the driver returned. It came in at 5:48pm.

The tracking page probably won't help. You'd be better off calling the place at some point in the day and ask. It will usually depend on what time that specific truck normally gets back to the building. I always have to deal with that kind of stuff with UPS.

Thanks you guys. That was plan B. I am a little ocd, and I have a ton of crap to do tonight, but I don't want to leave my phone spine in a cold distribution center for the night. plus the kid had a play tomorrow, so I would like to test the video.

I can type, since my screen started going the auto correct is bad, and I am too lazy to do anything since I am getting a new phone.

You can also leave a note if you won't be home and they will leave it. As long as you feel comfortable with packages left. I've done it this way several times without issues, buy ymmv.

Haha "test the video" is actually code for play with my sweet toy during the kid's play

Same thing happened to me yesterday; I saw on the tracking page (and via email) that there was a delivery exception at 1pm. I took the print from the tracking page to the fedex hub at 6pm and the guy handed me my box. Fedex usually runs two rounds, one that ends at 3p and one that ends at 7p. If the first expectation was before 3 and the original claim was "delivery by 3" then that means the box will be back at the hub not much later than 3 (when he gets the next round of boxes.)

It took a LOT of self control but i was a good boy and didnt turn it on until the battery read 100%. Ever since then, it's been gravy!

Could you tell from the tracking page that you're phone was at the dist center? Delivery exception was at 11, but they are telling me I can get it at 7:30. I well have to all my husband to get it for me.

7:30 i think is what they put on the tags as a matter of standard. No, the tracking page doesnt show when it appears at the dist hub. I pass by it on the way home anyway so it was only a 5 minute gamble to see if it was there or not (well worth the risk if youre a phone junkie!) Unless you live in a sparse area where the driver might be out on one route until 7pm, i would bet its there closer to 5pm.

I missed mine and they left a tag on the door.. says i can pickup after 7 but then says a staffed facility not available in my area.. so I have to wait for the re-delivery I guess.. The door tag has a section on it that you can sign and they will leave it if you miss again

Personally, I would not do it. Several FedEx employees have been caught stealing phones and other electronics.

Never had an issue.

Of course not. The chance of having a problem is probably 1 in a million. I just don't want to be that 1 and be out a $600 phone . FedEx is covered since you signed the release.

Yes, they update it when it arrives back at the facility. See Jul 6, 2012 5:48PM

How odd that they didnt give me the option to pick up my phone. I missed the deliver but instead of them bringing it back to their facility, they went to my neighbors house and had them sign for it. Luckily my neighbors (who were apparently very confused) don't hate me and just held it for me til I got home. Not sure how they decided to bring it to my neighbors versus bringing it back to the warehouse..

My door tag actUally said 7:50. I went up there and sat in the lot til after 8. I then went to the Verizon store for help activating, since I apparently needed to activate it under the other line than transfer it, which required two sim cards.

What fun, but I have a functioning phone now. Yeah!
